Secure and connected rail networks: telent showcases solutions for cyber security, network migration and infrastructure
Backnang, 8 September 2026 – telent, a vendor-neutral system integrator for data networks in critical infrastructure, is demonstrating at InnoTrans 2026 in Berlin how rail operators can gradually migrate existing transmission networks to future-proof IP technology whilst ensuring security, availability and the continuity of operations throughout this migration process. The focus will be on a live demonstration of cybersecurity, modern IP and transmission networks, a data gateway for secure data exchange, as well as infrastructure services for fibre-optic and copper networks, network cabinet installations and in-house cabling.
An internet-connected model railway layout at stand 440 in Hall 4.1 demonstrates how unauthorised interference can affect a networked railway system. The demonstration shows how attacks are detected, their effects analysed and protective measures initiated. Further exhibits illustrate how railway companies can gradually migrate existing networks and prepare their infrastructure for new applications.
